Purchasable vanity items

Postby Nalaris » Tue Oct 24, 2006 3:51 pm

The 'credits' you get for voting are nice and all...but they're relatively worthless to someone who couldn't spend three and a half hours on Cantr if s/he wanted too.

So I propose that you be able to buy random vanity items with credits, since I do vote for Cantr and I would like to have some use for the credits on my account. I don't care if it's just something like...buying/furnishing a 'Cantr house' which doesn't affect your characters, but which might have some cute little graphics.

I dunno, but I want to be able to get something.

You know what would be cool? A tiny little island seperate from the rest of the game, kind of like the whole 'newspawn island' idea, with one char per account where credits actually would give you in game perks.

How about choosing eye and hair colour when generating a new character?

Well that could fit in with my idea to. Come to the amazing new island where people actually have eye and hair color! :D

Mostly though I just want to be able to customize my chars skills...

I think it's all awful idea. The credits are a bad idea to begin with.

The concept of any tangible in-game reward for voting is bad in my book. Minutes is acceptable, an extra character slot, or a bay characters (should these ever occut) but once you are in the game your are in the game. This is only one step from suggesting the top voters get uber-characters with uzis and kevlar body armour.

I am NOT suggesting any in game improvements. I fully agree that everyone in game should be the same, or else our merit as a 'society simulator' will die.

And I'm not suggesting that either. Not for the real game anyway....I meant a island completely seperate from the game world, like the newbie island's supposed to be, that everyone just had one character slot for. (and should probably have to buy it with credits first)

I am moving this to rejected. Gaining even roleplaying motivated items through OOC effort is against the very spirit of Cantr.
