Because I see landing stages and Coaster Harbours as a set of wharfs and piers - with a gate if furnished with a lock . They are for simplicity modelled as buildings in Cantr but in general if a boat can be seen coming in to dock to a beach in a town, you'd also see it coming in to dock to the towns harbour.

That's changed the way I look at the harbour buildings

But that's really not how they work in Cantr, they're more like giant garages built over the water that a ship can sail into.
Fine, rejected, oh well...but do you at least know if there will ever be 'vehicle amnesia'? It's one thing to see a ship from a long distance, but how does everybody automatically know its name?
The same goes for other vehicles...I think there should be a project that lets somebody permentantly paints a name on the side, but otherwise it should just be a dynamically nameable 'dirt bike', 'van' etc.

I was just thinking that perhaps only towns with lighthouses should be able to know if there is any vessel approaching and starting to dock... so if you have a lightouse, you should be able to see docking messages.

Like boat sheds and submarine pens, although you can usually see a ship or boat entering something like that, which doesn't support the suggestion

Jeez talk about a suicide mission.... "Kill me I have the key"

Actually I did think of that though...the guard would have seen the messages in advance and been prepared, and a good one would probably wake up and go for reinforcements before they were killed, unless the pirates were just super cordinated.
