Blockades [Duplicate]

*If this is a duplicate then I shall repent for my licentious sins by committing seppuku...yeah right*

I was thinking, what about road blockades and/or sea blockades? Think about it, a town receives a report of an incoming attack and could use stone to build a blockade on a certain path coming to their road and when the person/s come from the other side of the blockade, they have three choices, go back, destroy blockade with weapons (or could try implement siege to finally destroy buildings) or just idle your time away. A blockade of coaster harbour or blockade surrounding the area.

*I thought of this while reading the time magazine......Maybe its a subliminal message that the Times is blockading our minds ^^*

But couldn't the game support building blockades etc on the "roads" that the character sees from the town? I mean, people can point to them and improve them, so they're 'things' to some degree.

Doug, I think almost any suggestion is going to require some degree of coding. Of course the game engine doesn't support it now, but it obviously could.

There's a topic somewhere about city walls. That would be no use until free roaming is introduced, if ever, in which case road blocks would be no use anyway.
I doubt very much whether any of it will happen, but until that decision is made, I doubt this will be progressed.

Road blocks would be useful to stop anyone who has to use the road. Free roaming has no influence on that.

Cities can be simulated by calling a building at the location 'the city' and rooms within this building 'houses'. Such a city would have impermeable 'walls', but a very weak city gate (can be destroyed using a crowbar?!?). There are some serious drawbacks of course (limited view, needing a permanent gate guard outside the city, single entrance/exit, key issues, no control over the roads), but agriculture and resource gathering logically occur outside the city, so this fits well.
