No one is probably going to like this idea but here it is...

I think that there should be computers (not necessarily now but some time in the future). They would be kind of like what are used in grocery stores, you would be able to edit them like notes but without picking them up and you have to know a password to edit them. They would be for keeping track of what bigger businesses have in stock. There would be two lists of things:

coal--------------------5687
iron--------------------1235
potatoes---------------20987
...

^^----------------------^^
editable----------------editable
with---------------------with
administrator---------normal
password--------------password

and maybe you could hook them up with radios and if you have a big business in several locations the computers can update each other every turn so they are all the same...

I know that this is sortof what notes do but with notes there is always the problem of someone picking it up and not putting it down or someone editing it who shouldn't edit it.
