Great Weather Disasters

Postby mikejacobs14 » Sun Apr 23, 2006 1:40 am

I was thinking about great weather disasters like tornadoes, volcanoes, hurricanes and landslide, every disaster is different, like hurricane destroys houses and boats, destroys items and stuff, and killing lots of people etc

I like this idea to be implemented cause soon all the places will have towns soon, and It'll be good if something wipes out towns time to time, to slower the growing establishment rates.

It will give more realism to the game, many people die from tsunami, misery and death happening, everyone cries, people taking advantage of the moment  We could also start building weather resistant buildings that might have better chance against weathers but thats for later. I say we give this a thought!

I believe weather is on its way, and such things might encourage Cantr religions... give the gods and spirits something to protect the people from.

Please Jos! Save us from the Pirates!

I don't like this idea at all, and I think it's been suggested before.

First, if something is going to take out all the buildings in a town, it's going to take out the townspeople. Second, as this is a text based game, it's going to be more like this:

"4567-9.30 - You see a wall of water wash away Olipifirovash. You are deaded."

Yay!

Minor weather to get the system functional, that's what should start it. Rain makes crops grow. Snow make some people sick, a little tired, maybe does a little damage. Severe heat gives some slob with 25% tiredness a sunstroke and he passes out. That'd all be good.

Starting with earthquakes and volcanoes would be too much.
Reality was never my strong point.

Moved to Rejected suggestions

Weather is already an accepted suggestion but the planned implemetation is just to have general climate, winds and sea currents . Extreme weather is not planned and has been rejected in the past.

Dormant volcanic regions do already exist in Cantr - they will probably remain dormant

Hmm, is that true? :) I always assumed we will eventually get natural disasters ...
