I checked through the suggested items list, and didn't see anything exactly relating to this.
So the way I see it, unless there is a war going on or you live in a town with very liberal laws on hitting people, those who don't have a high fighting skill won't have many opportunities to improve. Combat dummies would give them a reliable alternative to hitting their peers by giving them something else to swing at.
All normal combat rules will apply, namley that you can only attack it once per day, and they take damage (but can be repaired like a normal item).
I'm leaning towards the dummy showing up as a person in the town, although it is obviously an object.
If it were to show up as a person, then it should look something like this:
Person A Male
Trainer Combat Dummy
Person B Female
this method would allow people to see how much damage the dummy has taken.
The dummy should also experience constant decay, like maybe 1% damage per year.
As for manufactureing...
Object: Wooden Combat Dummy
Days needed: 3
Raw materials needed:
2000 grams of wood
200 grams of medium rope
Objects:
Tools needed: saw
Machines needed:
Well, its rough, and any imput (expecially concerning resource requirements, as i didn't research what a dummy would actually need (2kg seems awfully light, but for the sake of practicality, making it much higher would make a dummy too expensive for the size of the benefit) would be greatly appreciated.)
