Dyes (Duplicate suggestion rejected)

Now I think that this hasn't been suggested before so here it goes:

clothes at the moment are all very plain, in white cotton or brown hide, or plain coloured silk. None of them are different from each other. So why not have dyes? Dyes have been used since the very early ages to colour clothes, perhaps it could be a certain plant, used in a pestle and mortar, makes a red dye and another plant a blue one, in lots of different colours, and then that could be used in a project in a dying basket or whatever they were called.

That way clothes could be different colours, so it could read

She wears:
A (colour) (description), in other words easy to code

And if clothing is undyed it could read A plain (description)

that would be cool, not everyone should have to wear the same coloured things like uniform.

A search for "dye" and selecting for the Suggestions forum (I didn't touch General Discussion) revealed 16 hits, most nicely this one.
