Seeing if characters are SOMEWHAT active

Postby SekoETC » Wed Aug 03, 2005 6:02 pm

That is, instead of showing if a person is or is not currently online, which we agree might lead into CRB's, it would show if the character has been checked within the last two or some days. It wouldn't give the exact amount of time but would give hints of wether someone has just finished their project and is gonna start a new one soon or is just sleeping, or if a person is not that type that would work on projects at all but talks to people and watches things and is otherwise useful. Also maybe you wouldn't get events for the time of deep sleep.

But put yourself in the shoes of a Cantr character: you see someone sleep-walking around in a dazed state, like a zombie, not talking to any body, relentlessy continuing on with whatever project they are doing and if they have no project just lying on the ground snoozing away - are you gonna tell me that you don't know if they are "asleep" or not?

Yeah but if you have just arrived in the location from a road or from a building or you want to keep an eye on things but can't stay there forever..?

Really don't want to see the physics of 'sleep' altered in any way.

'sleep' is a kind of bad, semi-OOC term for a state that doesn't actually much resemble real sleep, anyway.

Cantr sleep has many forms.
There is the "Sleeping but still working" Sleep
The "Sleeping sickness" Sleep
Actual Rping "Sleep"

They can all seem the same at times but don't be fooled. Cuz that's when they GET YA!

And don't forget: "watching everything as it happens, but not saying anything or taking any visible action, thereby pretending to" sleep...

I do that a lot.

bless you - I saw the title of this post - and I thought - that'll be Seeks...

and no - I don't want my town leader to be bumped down like the last one just 'cos the other charries realise just how inactive she really is...

REJECTED, as this suggestion defies all Cantarian logic. Which amounts to nothing, of course, but that's not the point, eh?
