Distance Travelled Indicator

Postby UloDeTero » Sat Apr 15, 2006 4:05 pm

You know the useful little thing on the character page?:

Travelling from Town to Othertown (T 87 %)

There should be something like that on the main page, up where the name and project info is. I know the project completion % is displayed there. Why not travel completion % too? Many times I've wondered how far along the path my charrie is, but had to go back to the character page to check...

To clarify: I know that currently you can see where your charrie is travelling from and to, but there is no percentage there yet.

This sounds easy to implement and useful. Why not?

Actually, I'd like to see paths walked by foot not be known for distance unless they've already been walked, similar to not know a skill until its been done. Projects are different because you're working at a linear pace so you can convert grams completed to a % of grams to convert.

I can't walk from New York to Boston and know when I'm 33% of the way unless I see a sign or someone tells me. I'd only know where I'm going. If we implement this, it should only be after the person walked it at least once, call it cantr memory.

This has now been implemented .

TSL's suggestion about not knowing the distance until you have travelled the route is a good point but would be relatively complex to implement.
So whilst the travel progress is displayed on the players page it should also be displayed on the character page.
