No Metal Vehicle
Yep, It's just way overdue. Perhaps it could go at about the same speed as somebody who walks. But a way to carry a large ammount of goods is needed.
Personally I think a wooden veichle that goes a fair ammount faster than a walker wouldn't upset balance too much.

One of my pet ideas. Since this is the third time iit's been suggested independently, and no objections have been raised (aside from what I consider an insignificant issue of realism), I think it's about due for implementation. But not in this thread.

That is not the purpose of the wheelbarrow.
Why not? I know what it's purpose is, no idea if that's listed in the Wiki, but why can't the wheelbarrow do what we're talking about?
Reality was never my strong point.

This is due for a bump - although most of the specific suggestions are within the links Sho has posted here.
It seems that there is a goal to improve trading within Cantr. I have said before, and I'll say it again and again, travelling in cantr takes far too long, and not enough can be carried, to make trading worthwhile except for a (very) few well-off independent traders and the odd well-organised government
(even then, I've lost count of the number of times I've seen or been involved in setting up a 'trading agreement', only to find that those involved are dead or gone after a couple of trades...)
A wooden wagon of some kind, not necessarily increasing speed, but increasing the amount that can be traded, is not only long overdue, but fits in with the goal of encouraging trade.
It's obvious, just take a look at the number of boats being built...

Whoever you vote for.
The government wins.

There is now a vehicle that doesn't require metal at any step called the "small wooden cart". You can carry about twice what a person on foot can, but it travels slower then a person when on simple roads (it moves at about the same speed as a person on a paved road). For details, check out the Wiki entry: http://www.cantr.net/mwiki/index.php/Small_wooden_cart
