I made and used my own stone axe when I was about 16. Most parts of my story don't equate into cantr, but I'm sharing it all the same.
I was on a smallish island in canada in the summer and had a few hours to kill while my dad was off in the boat fishing. (he grounded me and my brother to seperate islands, long story). There was a small granite rock, a bit smaller than a loaf of bread. I didn't have a wiki too look up how to make the stone axe (wiki =

) so I improvised. I picked it up and threw it down on the granite face of the island (it's all granite, for future reference) while kind of aiming where I wanted it to break. Three or four slams later, I had an acute angle on the chunk of stone. I found a tree that some beavers had been gnawing on (start your own bever thread, leave this one alone! ) and smacked it with the pointy bit of stone. No haft or string, just hands. In a few short minutes I had a small tree on the ground.
Same kind of idea to make a few bone knives (really not durable, needed several to carve a cobra on a walking stick)
I think we should have a stone axe in cantr. I shouldn't double production, in fact, it should only have a slight increase, but even a slight increase, say 700 instead of 600, would be a help and cement it into a basic tool along the lines of bone knives and stone hammers.

It could be very useful. So, I like this suggestion.

Well, I've tested stone axes, both hafted and hand. Both do increase you rate, and are very similar in design, but a hafted axe has a much narrower head, maybe the stone hand axe could be the component of the hafted axe and can be used to give a small bonus to attack and wood collection, which could be increase by using wood and sinew to haft it.

Antichrists suggestion sounds about right to me

ACCEPTED, because I liked Agar's usage of the word "Monkey". Teehee! ^.^
...Oh, he didn't use the word Monkey, it was Beaver...
...Well, doesn't matter. Accepted anyway. Don't make me change my mind...

I can't find it?
Like in my other post - could an 'adze' not be used as another menas of increasing wood collection?
*starts the 'more uses for the adze society'

If you have stone axe, you can collect 399 grams a day.
Why not just say 400?

Because the average daily rate is 399 - if it said 400 it would be wrong

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I meant why not make the average daily rate 400.

Because that is not possible, 399 is possible as is 402 but not 400

I assume there's a Wiki entry on this new implementation...? I mean, I could just go and look, but then, that would take the fun out of writing pointless forum posts. And we wouldn't want that, would we?

As Chris has said, this is not possible. This was my original wish, but since tools work as a percentage of the base gathering rate, the rate of wood can only move in increments of 3 (1% of 300).

It has been listed in the wiki ever since the time when this actually was new - two months ago. RD (Talapus, in this case) is quite prompt about updating the wiki to reflect changes they make - I usually learn about changes through the wiki before they are discussed on the forums.
