OMG I was laughing at school the other day with my friend... We're implementing Happiness, right?

So I was thinking, what if some random newspawn jumps on the local piano, and plays Awkwardly for like days?
I mean, what if there was like a bagpipe in the local prison, and,

You hear a man in his twenties play awkwardly on the bagpipe, the sound is coming from SoAndSo Prison.
You lose 50% happiness.
You enter SoAndSo Prison, leaving the central area of SoAndSo
You expertly kill a man in his twenties.

YAY! Well, I found that funny...

I already brought music skills up earlier and it was shot down. Sorry, I'd like to kill bad instrument players as much as anybody.

Hahaha, it'd be the best and worst death...

'Yeah- well the Tyrant of Seatown Forest, Mary Williams, was... er... killed because she played the violin really poorly... Characters couldn't stand the noise- even Seatown sent a personal army to take her out!'

Lol.

It doesn't have to be 'you see a ma in his twenteis play acwardly on a violin" it could be 'you hear screeches come out of a violin that a man in his twenties is trying to play' but that might be harder to implement...

Yes, it may be harder to implement but I agree, it would be so much better. A little effort goes a long way, as they say!

No, really, this isn't verry hard. You have to have a skill. turn the levles of the skills into numbers. If <answer>=1 print "BLA BLA BLA'

And for conserts(I believ I've alredy told you this one..)

Just get all the people who are in the consert, there "number"(levle) and devide it by the number of people who are playing(Exept for the band director.. His number should be more detremental, or helpful to the band than any band member.)

Heh Pie obviously you know nothing about PHP, (but a decent amount about programming in general). It's far less simple than that... Where do you store the variable, pie? On your computer? No. It has to interchange with the mySQL server, your PHP code has to connect to the database, access this skill information, save the relevant tables, formalize it all(make it into an array, etC), then use the variable in an if statement, then do calculations, then perhaps 'echo' it out (which is print), then resave the variable if it's changed, update everything, update the mySQL server, end the connection if not already disconnected, and all this has to find a place somewhere in the source code, and it has to not be messy.

Sure, it may be easy, but there is some effort put into it. At least, more than how much you assumed pie!!! :P :D

I expect RD will release that information to the wiki as soon as the additions are made, and of course the manufacturing information will be visible in-game. But announcing it beforehand wouldn't be fair to people who don't use the forums.

anothor idea for how it could show musical instraments being played:
you see a man in his twenties produse scretches on a violin while trying to play the Kwor national anthem,
you see a man in his thirties beuatifully use a flute to play the last stand of so-and-so

this idea is that after you choose to play the instrament a page will come up asking you what you want to play and you can type in a name of a song.

An assortment of musical instruments are now available in the Build menu. For lack of a better place they are found in the Tools submenu.
