Unify "Retrieve Resource from container" page

Postby Greek » Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:30 pm

My idea is to create one page from two. To make it look like that:

Image

Amount filled automatically when selecting a resource. (JavaScript)

Also we can think about radiobuttons which makes possible to select if we want the resource to be dropped on the ground or taken to inventory.

There are many advantages:
+ cleaner code
+ more comfortable when dealing with masses of resources in the container (everything is faster)
+ less transfer used
+ less clicking when picking up something from the ground then

I don't see any disadvantages. ;) And you?

EDIT: New new.

I know, that part of that suggestion is already accepted, but it's unified unification of that idea and some more.

I can't see any disadvantage except the odd pleasure of those players who move just beyond 'new' and take joy in telling the 'new' player: You know you need to pick those potatoes up from the ground!

I love it, less clicking.

I like the general idea. However, I don't want the amount filled in for me. There could be a button for max amount, and if pressed, it would fill in the quantity box. But there shouldn't be a default quantity already in the box.

The maximum is grames:
Amount (box)

Is this the maximum of the selected resource or the whole capacity of container?

It's old translation tag, it should be deleted in final version.

Could you add a sentence with: "You still can put/storage xxx amount/grames" or something like this?

It's only retrieve page, so I don't know if it would be useful.
Or maybe are you talking about carry of character when picking up to inventory?

Oh, I thought this system was for all, for two options. Retrieve and Storage. The first with the resources of container and second with inventory.

Anyway, would be great add one sentence like that, when the resources that you take of the container go to your inventary, but don't have more sense if the resource still go to the ground :)

EDIT: I love the idea, GreeK :D

It could be extended to storage resources page, but not yet. I don't know how could it work, should be similar... but it's other suggestion.

Yes, love it. Fewer clicks; fewer page loads!

Just keep in mind how it'll look on smaller monitors (and ideally on smartphones, but we don't really have an interface geared towards that anyway, so I'm not as worried about that)

+1

Can we add a line that shows you how much you're still holding in your inventory?

Also: when the event is generated, will it just say:

"You see a man in his twenties take some potatoes out of a storage"

or will it generate both events like it does now?

Or will there be some kind of hybrid event?

"You see a man in his twenties take some potatoes out of a storage and put them [in his inventory / on the ground]"

What do you think about that?

I think new event type would be useful.
