Seeing sails of ships

When we talked about visibility of raws stored in container I got the idea for another use of this interface. I thinking about possibility of viewing ships sails in this way. This rather natural that we don't need be at the ship to see her sails.
It's can be first text, before another signs that this ship can have. And maybe in italic font to be easier to recognize. What do you think about this?
For example:
Kastor`s Ship (a brand new Sloop)
mainmast, gaff mainsail, jib

Ofcourse it should be visible when ship is on water too. You think we should limit range from we can seeing sails? Maybe 75% of our normal visible range? Including the telescope etc. . Or just standard case: we see ship == we see sails.

Actually, on a regular spherical world you might see the sails before you see the ship.

I also don't think that we need to make this more complicated than necessary.

As an addition to this idea: additional names of ship should be visible on sea just like it is when ship is docked to harbour or the coast.
