Well then you have a language barrier...

A symbol like the hand is universal.

What would it look like with the thumb folded down as well? Most of the time when you point at something, press something, or click a button you do it with your thumb and fingers all rolled down except for the pointing finger.

Just curious what it would look like. Might seem more natural...

Hmm.. weird, I never fold down my thumb :P

Yeah... I guess it does look a little awkward.

:D You don't? So with you thumb up and index finger foward, it looks like you are pointing a make-believe gun at everything you point at?

That's interesting question... and it depends on my hand, I think. When pointing with left one, I simple let my thumb hang... and it's pointing down. But it isn't bent. And with right one... like a lotery :P Gosh, I'm weird

Why? You can always point on the button and read the description in your language. Without it, I would never guess that atack button is used for atacking.

To quote Austrailia, Just because that's the way it's always been, doesn't mean that's the way it should be.

What I mean is, we may as well start making things universal now.

Exactly! Cantr is a multi-language game, and the icons should be kept universal. You wouldn't want the "eat" button to say "comer" or "أكل"... That would make no sense to you and would be weird. Same for the other language groups.

But you can't avoid it. Look at the atack button, or dragging button. What would you propose instead of them? Because after playing Cantr for three years I sometimes have to read the description or accidentaly atack instead of dragging.

The attack button could have a dagger or a fist on it, while the drag button could have an object with an arrow to the right. But "use" is pretty abstract. Especially when use in Cantr generally means adding to a project. It would make sense to have something like pacman for eat, but if you're going to change eat to apply then it will be more difficult.

BZR, the reason they're like that was put in place so long ago. They wouldn't be hard to update, I would imagine..

I actually was thinking the same thing for attack as seko.

And an arrow for drag, not bad. ...Though I always wondered about the "pull" function for notes and such. Isn't that essentially drag? Does that get translated?

Here's an idea for a new eat button.

That still gives the idea of normal eating...
