Seeing Weapons

Postby Stan » Tue Apr 06, 2004 8:57 pm

Why can't our characters see swords, crossbows, shields, etc when another character is carrying them?

There's no way an object like that could be hidden in a pocket or a bag, so it should be obvious when a character has one of these objects, just like when they have earrings, daisy crown, or other clothing.

Of course, a knife and other objects of that size could easily be hidden but not the larger tools, weapons and protection.

Are there plans to modify descriptions of characters carrying these objects?

True. It is interesting, but unrealistic. If I've got to look at some dude's loin cloth I should get to see if he's carrying a sword.

I could understand if you might see "You see a glint of steel at his side" And might be able to geuss what it is, but you can't be sure because more than one thing is used with steel or iron.

True, but certain clothing should be able to hide the larger objects, like cloaks and things of that nature. I would really like to be able to see weapons and shields, for a bunch of reasons

Yes I know, but I think there should also be some way to conceal them if we decide to make them visible.

Does someone have to point this out once again? Cantr is not like our world. Cantr is a world in its own, means things are going to be totally different, this not being able to see thing is something i like, perhaps when/if we have to equip the weapon we can see them in the character description, other than that i think it should stay the same.

Hmm, I don't think we should be able to see these weapons for those reasons, and heck it'll make more to read while Cantring, and I'm too lazy fer that. Of course if they were implemented, I would agree with Trage on the manner to which they are portrayed. >.<

Just the same, you'd be seeing the man with a sledgehammer *maketh the hammers a weapon as it is in GTA =D* and all large items.

It might be easy to do it by weight for everything at first.

Anything 100 grams or over is visible including carrots and such? Unless a cloak or whatever.

Ug. Not good. Though it might make sense if he put his shield down there... a very large cricket box?
