I don't agree with the name change of houses unless there was some way to make it so only people who put work into it could do it. I mean people could go around being jackasses and changing the names on everything or they could change the name of someone else's house and call it their own.

That's why it should be a project, and you should be able to see when somebody starts it. Then we could have graffiti 'artists' who we then proceed to drag away to prison for defacing the "Sh!tty Hall"

Oh yes I am sure it would be quite a lot of fun to drag away grafiti "artists" for their naming of certain........ buildings in which we will not name here, but I would prefer the idea of not having to rename something every 2 hours.

Normally there isn't that much of a crime rate in most places in Cantr. It is possible to take everything in town and run away, but that only happens in the rare instance that some jagoff decides they want to kill off a char or piss off the other players. I imagine it would be similar with renaming buildings. And someone wouldn't spend their time acquiring paint, or maybe a tool for sign replacement, solely to kill off a char. They would likely do it either for their own building, or perhaps as an act of protest.

I was saying if you didn't have to acquire anything to change it. If you did than yes I would probably agree.

IMO, building names should be dynamic, and you could place signs on them if you wanted people to know what theyre supposed to be called.
At the moment, I'm not sure what hte names are supposed ot be made out of... stone?

I've alwasy viewed them as the common names that folks in the town would have known them as. Of course it would be a little better if when you first arrived in a town buildings were kind of like you see people initially.
"A stone building"
"A wood cottage"
"A log Cabin"
and then you could asisgn names to them - an upgrade could then be a wooden sign so people could identify the building as soon as they arrived.

You know just clicking 'quote' in the top right of someones else post actually quotes that post automatically.
Anyway, dynamic buildings are indeed required for the furtherment of things in Cantr, seeing buildings like people when you first seem them makes sense really.

i like the idea about the wooden sign thing would it be possible to attack an item to a building in the programming sence so that resources could have a look into putting it into the game ?
