I was just thinking, I'm bored, so I'm gonna think of a suggestion to add to the suggestions board, so I did...you know what would be nice? Small boats, that can be put onto larger boats, like little one person ones, and you can have the little boat undock from the bigger boat...be kinda usefull...although, it shouldn't offer the protection of a bigger boat...

I'd have to agree. It'd be really convenient to have a canoe, for example, that you could dock within a Raker or Soarer or even a longboat so you could ferry yourself to shore or between ships. That's been on my wishlist for a while. Well, that and a rocket launcher.

This has been on my wishlist for a while, too

Or practice gunboat diplomacy.
*at Lad Imperial Palace*
Sir, a Flotilla of Bhak Warships is harbored off the coast of the Empire and claims that if we do not lift trade tariffs, the ban on the sale of steel and travel restrictions they will be forced to open our markets for us... what should I tell them?

would also be a handy way of stopping pirates who raid then fall back to a ship and think they are safe if you could take a canoe out and storm there boat.or even if you could commence a boarding action from any ship by docking the ship's together.hehe this could make for some very interesting RP possibilities.*goes lookinmg for his skull and crossbones flag, eye patch, parrot and wooden leg*

LOL was just making example... there is no "gathering threat" in Bhak... at least not now... already did most of their killing from what I hear... then I again I don't have character there at present, so what do I know?
I think it would be neat, gunboat diplomacy that is... whoever the regions are.

Well this would also set up a new breed seperate from the army and guard, the Marines. Imagine D-Day at Naron, with dozens of little row boats coming to attack Lad and getting sliced up by the shore positions.
I guess then Row Boats and Canoes will no longer be restricted to lakes.

We'd also need artillery like catapults and ballistas, and making ranged weapons have some range.
Sieges would be sweet.

Mounted units of the sort would be great on ships, adding the real use of a Navy.

If you couldn't attack boats form land, could we make undocking take atleast one turn. This would give towns a chance to defend themselves against sneaky boat theives and massacres.
At this time, a person could dock in a boat, hop out and steal things, hit everyone, hop in their boat, and undck... all in 10 seconds with no fear of being hit at all.
We can chase people in cars and bikes down the path and have a whole turn to respond to their actiosn before their vehicles saves them, but with boats, once you undock, you are untouchable.

Yeah, with the amount of time it takes to dock, you'd think it would take at least a little while to undo all that.
