Postby nacistas » Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:57 pm

it is possible to make coins from all other metals, so why not aluminium?

Maybe just because it's expensive? One coin could represent ten or a hundred smaller coins. Although it's kinda funny that in real life aluminum is cheap and ordinary and in Cantr it's lux.

That was not always the case. Napoleon had aluminium cutlery that was more valuable then his gold cutlery, and the capstone of the Washington monument is capped by a 2.8 kg piece of aluminium that was the largest piece of aluminium that had been case at the time, and represented quite a sum of money.

As for aluminium coins, I think that sounds reasonable. I am going to move this to the accepted category since I don't think many RD would disagree.

Nice!

It will be good, a harder-to-get material for coins more expensive than gold. It will be useful.

Any reason this has not been implemented yet? From what I remember, it shouldn't be hard at all.

It's an RD job, right? And RD has been inactive lately except for Elros.

I will open a thread in the RD forum and go ahead and start working up some formulas. Unfortunately there aren't really any active RD members besides me, so I just have to talk to myself...

I will open up the thread sometime tonight or tommorow and start working on it. I can have them put in the database within a few days if everything goes smoothly.
