Traveling

I think a good idea for an option while traveling besides the turn around or adjust speed buttons, would be to just be able to stop where you are. Or does that happen if you adjust your speed to zero?

That's exactly what happens when you adjust your speed to zero.

Why would you want to stop in the middle of going somewhere unless of course you were evading someone and just watied till they went past and carried on your way, I don't know till you can actualy do something whilst in between cities like build a mountain retreat their doesn't seem to be much need.
Although if you could build stuff you might small communities spirnging up all over the place, you could have a little trading post half-way between a mountainside full of iron and coal but no food and a town bursting with food creating a nice little market for the shop owner simply because you could supply whats needed much faster then people from either settlement.

I've often wondered myself....why isn't there anything between...lol. We know there are paths that lead to places. But there is also abundant space between towns like in woods. Why isn't/shouldn't it be possible to have something inbetween on a path. I think it would be cool to do this....building idea in the middle of paths. But they should remain hidden..lol. Like, you don't see the buildings while you're walking, you just have to know the right time when to stop...for example when you hit fifty percent with your character you set your speed to zero then after thats done you check your location-buildings etc see whats there, and :O all the sudden you see a building. LOL or something like that. Whatever it is, I do think there should be something inbetween paths too. :)

A lot of times I stop so that I can control what time I arrive in a place, wait for someone to catch up with me - wait for someone to pass me, as you mentioned...

I quite agree that it would be fun to have "cities" in-between places, but I think you should be able to see them, after all, if they are on the path, why wouldn't you? I think the ability for things like that to happen is coming in Cantr II.

You can also stop if your weak and want commune with nature.
{you have plenty of food but no healing food and the palces on both end of the path are hostile or at least hostile towards you. Seldom do people notice the trail hermits as they jog by at 100%}

This wasn't "implemented," but since the ability to stop on a path by adjusting your speed to 0 has the same effect, I'll put this suggestion in here.

Er... isn't that exactly what locations are? Isn't this just like inroducing more locations? :?

And yes, 0% = equals stopped. Logical... which in Cantr means its unexpected... :wink:

This thread is 2 yrs old ;). I'm just in the mood to grab some of the posts in the Suggestions forum and move them to the proper place.
