Implementing weather is a great idea, I think. It would encourage cooperation, expecially if winters were long and frezZzzZing.
In the spring farming could be easier.
And... everything should depend on the region of the world!

Can't believe this isn't in, to be honest.
I don't need the additional effects, just something saying it's winter and messages of snow are enough for me. (Same for spring, summer and fall)
Once at least THAT is done, all other stuff will be much more easily added, no?

The problem is that there's not many people active in the Prog. Dept.

As I sit here, hearing the rain and thunder from outside right now, I started thinking how great it would be to have weather in Cantr.
I see it's already been accepted but has since been buried, so I thought I'd bump this thread to give it a little more attention.

Edit to add:
If even to just make it easier to program in, I'd be okay with the weather just being pure RP at first. It shouldn't necessarily have any major effects.
On the location page it would describe whether it was Raining, Sunny, Foggy, Cloudy, Snowing etc and be a random event. Also whenever you enter any outside location the weather would be shown (You enter RandomTown, where you see 8 people and it's raining, coming from BuildingA.) Or something to that effect.

Well, someone must be working on it.

Thunderbolt and lightning,
very very frightening!
My character even notices while inside a building.

That would be a bug.

It won't be considered a bug once there are windows... Besides, I can hear thunder from inside an air raid shelter... I'm sure a thin layer of brick doesn't block it out.
I thought it was a sign that someone is soon to get their miracle, from the anniversary.

Whatever it is, I'm loving it

Nice start! I hope that localizing it is in the works. Kind of strange to have all my characters, on different continents, see the same lightning.

I didn't do it, but the effect was intended. It's a new toy for the admins, and is versatile.

Maybe then, but now there is no way to hear anything outside unless you step outside... and I would assume it would have to be true for any building left windowless in the future.
But I'm liking it. Great work guys.
Is this a one-time occurrence for now or is/will the weather be something we can expect to be added to the tick timings?

This has nothing to do with weather.

If you are interested to know, all of my chars didn't hear the thunder, but the wind thing did work. Are you guys experimenting with different areas of effect with the those funny tools?

I think the thunder was just for English and maybe Polish. But it seems like Finns got the wind slightly before the English did, so I think it's language group specific.
