You might also consider saving the whole map in 400% so the additionals wouldn't have to be resized. It would lead into a very big map though.

I'd say, I've got one now in the original size and it's approx. 2000 pixels square, I had to half it's size to make it manageable in the browser. Good idea though, I feel the onset of multiple volumes to my maps.

I'm beginning to see the benefit of having the wake, though at first I thought it looks a bit clumsy, being all stick-like. But it helps visualizing where you're going to, when as using numbers blindly you're only guessing the approximate right direction. Would it be possible to havethe line fade into sea blue towards the end, or to zero alpha?
