The wind begins to swirl devishly through town, and the sign to the Inn creaks under the pressure. Without warning a flurry of rain and hail begins to fall upon the town, and the villagers all scurry home for protection.

"Wait here until we decide what to do!" Spider called to them as he ran to the Sheriff's office. A very faint sneeze was heard as he closed the door behind him, and the rain continued to pound the WhiteChapel area.

The only thing the sheriff was interrogating was the bottom of his wine bottle. Grudgingly he stood up, and went over to the storage area to fetch some rope. He sighs and throws on his raincoat and hat haphazardly.

"Everyone! Come Quick!" Spider yelped in a druken, surprised voice. Slowly people came into the pouring rain to see what had happened. The voice seemed to have come from the manor of Lord DragonSlayer.

When they break the door, Dragonslayer and his servant are found naked in the bed, embracing each other, bodies still warm yet not breathing, unresponding. Traces of opium are found on a silver tray on the nightstand. Their faces, at first turgid or livid, are now pale and the lips livid, the extremities are cold, their pupils minutely contracted, their dry skin slightly covered in a cold wet sweat.

Swymir slowly makes his way to his medical library. He returns much later, having forgot why he was in his library. After his second return he briefly read the passage on opium: "'Death then takes place from respiratory paralysis or asphyxia, though the heart stops almost immediately after breathing ceases.' These people are dead."

Next to the opium are two small envelopes. A note addressed to the banker and a second adressed to the egyptologist. The two take their notes and leave to read them alone. The others stand in awe but upon hearing a cackled laugh in the night they soon fear the monsters will be out sooner than later. They all flee home and only the sound of locks being closed can be heard under the falling rain.
