the most interesting part of this thread is that one person really will win. the thread will have a last post. most likely this will happen by people becoming bored and the thread being fogotten about for long enough to drift from the top. this particular ending isn't gauranteed, but an ending is nearly simply derived from the rising entropy of the universe. physics dictates that the human race will end at the latest because it becomes impossible for the universe to sustain, though the end will probably come long before then.
but back to the original, more likely reason for the thread to end: it being fogotten about. there lies in that a certain amount of beautyiful irony. for someone to win, the thread must be forgotten about. thus the victor (if they are even aware of their status as such) can never make their victory known without putting it in jepordy. the mere act of bringing it to light would promptly renew the struggle.
