Translation Game

Well, not so much a game as just funny-ness.

Take a sentence or two and run it through an online translator (such as BabelFish). Translate as many times as you like and use as many different languages as you want. The aim is to end up with a funny result. No need to forward to anyone else or choose a winner or anything like that. Just have some fun and post your result.

As an example, I've taken part of the site's intro:

English: I am pretty sure that this translator sucks ass.

Finnish: I-KIRJAIN olen hieno totta kai että nyt kuluva kielenkääntäjä imaista aasi.

What it actually means: The letter I (I) am fine for sure that the interpreter being consumed at the moment to suck a donkey.

But surprisingly enough the online translator translates it back to English as something less funny: "I - LETTER am ripping sure that this translator suck ass."

I have no idea why it translates hieno as ripping.

But anyway, we might as well continue from this great "Finnish" sentence that it produced. Let's hear it in Swedish:

"JAG - MÄRKA er krusning säker så pass den här översättare suga åsna."

Which would translate back to: "SELF LETTER yourself ripple sure that this compiler suck ass."

After Czech it says: "Solitary Letter yourself ripple sure that this compiler suck jackass."

And... after tagalog it has been so completely jumbled that it's not really even a sentence: "nag iisa letter yourself bay alon voucher thatch it compiler suck jackass."

Anyways, I think we are doing it differently because I would get different answers if I did it the way you guys are doing it and this is how I am doing it:

(the sentence in English then)--->(the sentence in) Portuguese--->(the Portuguese sentence in) French--->(the French sentence in) Italian--->(the Italian sentence back to English and now I present....the new sentence):

In all the case, task that we make it différentement because I would begin various answers if I make it the way that guys you make them and this last one is like makes it.

Because of this I have no idea how bad the sentence is getting miss interpreted until the very end.

That's how we're doing it! It doesn't matter which languages you use or how many times you 'translate' the sentence. The idea is to mangle it.

But mangle it legitimately! Make sure that you're actually translating, and not, for example, inputting a Dutch sentence and selecting [French to Greek]. Select the right languages, and let the languages mangle themselves!

You even got a French word to 'stick'!

Oh, yes, I often get French words to stick. That's probably because the French dictionary has a tendency to be the largest one, while, say, Greek, or perhaps Chinese, does not have such a large vocabulary.
