Superhero Rumble! (GAME OVER!)

And now for something completely different...

Cruising around my various Mafia gaming forums, I sometimes stumble onto a different type of game that is also played online. I have found one that I think will allow much more creativity in what the players themselves can bring to the table.

The game I want to run is called Rumble.

Rules are here: http://kevan.org/rumble.cgi?genre=hero&mode=rules

Essentially you will each be creating your own superhero, and be duking it out for supremecy in a last man (or woman) standing contest which I will be moderating.

This game will be a trial run and will be for eight players. Since it is a trial, we will only be using powers from the "Classic" list that is found on the rules site. (Click on the right hand column button that says "view all superpowers." The starred powers are considered Classic powers. If you think you have a good idea for a power that is on par with those listed on the classic list, you may PM me a suggested power, and I will consider "okaying" it.

Each person playing should PM me with two chosen powers that they want to see in the game. I will announce what powers are up for bid as I get power selections in.

Game has ended!

Game will be played at that site not on this forum?

I have looked around and I like what I have seen there.

I have skimmed over the six possible Play options.
I do not think that I would play. Not really my thing, but
I like it.

Sounds like fun... but also like it'll be quite a bit of PMing. Count me in if we can find enough people.

I will be playing it on this site in this forum.

This will be the first time that I am playing/modding the game either, I just thought it would be something new and fun to do.

And I must say I'm a little  to hear a cantr player say something like this has a steep learning curve...

I don't think it'll be that hard.

If the genre really bugs people, we can change it as well. Just drop in a suggestion.

This is for the enjoyment of the public. I only want to make y'all happy.

But it's coming from a Cantr player who started off saying in Cantr:(many years ago)

1052: Thetaris: "Hey guys my friend showed me this game lol... its pretty shit.. how do i play? how do i move round etc... he wont tell me hahaha lol... my chars name is Thetaris.. but my real name is MAtt lolll!!!"

Yeah..

You picked up on Mafia strategy quickly enough.

Besides, it's a trial game. T-R-I-A-L. I'll probably make mistakes, and I'm the mod. :P

Let's just try it and see what happens. Plus in this one, you get to name your superhero and mock the other players mercilessly as you kick their butts. (Or something like that... )

Lol if I was Thetaris, I'd be in straight away.

Yeah, looks interesting, I'll play too.

The Hacker variation sounds quite like the old card game Netrunner, that was pretty good, if slightly complicated.

have i ever told you how much i hate you?

on an aside, i don't think ill be playin this. I just got myself completly engulfed in a NWN persistant world called Amia, which takes up roughly 10 hour s of my time each and every day (more on weekends, a little less on monday and wendsday because i get home at about 9 and then play to 1am)

Just actually read the rules after saying I would play, it doesn't sound too complecated, but it -does- sound as if it will take a long time, so let's please make a rule that each round is one day, at the end of the day resolution happens, but if you can't come online that day your energy is split up half to defence and half to attack
