The mo has chosen...

The diminished village decided that killing Pie was the best thing to do. Two of the five remaining suspects were the real deal... cold blooded killers.

It was strange then that such a bandwagon could form against one person... for surely at least one of the four would have had to be his accomplice if he were evil.

This fact didn't seem to bother the remaining four. They all drew knives and carved Pie viciously into quarters.

Pie, a VILLAGER, was lynched.

*click* *click*

"Always tough when the village lynches it's detective on day 1 isn't it son?"

"Yeah, it was really lame. I tried to give them hints, but they wouldn't listen..."

"Don't let it get you down, just learn from the experience. As a detective or seer role in a game of Mafia, you've got to take a few things into consideration if you want your team to win the game:

"First, NEVER let yourself be lynched without at least claiming to be the detective(seer) first. Your job is to give the village the information they need to take down the killers, you've got to expect that you're going to die eventually for the cause, so always make sure that it's the Mafia that is forced to use a kill on you."

"But... why should I claim seer? What good is claiming seer going to do if the village doesn't believe me?"

"That's a good question, Bowser. The answer is simple. The village has to believe you. A normal villager has no reason to claim to be a seer. So the only players with motive to do so are the actual seer or the Mafia themselves. If you claim to be the seer, then the village knows you're either one or the other, and the benefit of the doubt should almost always be given to the person claiming seer. In a game with role reveals, the village will find out if you're lying anyway the next day. So you should ALWAYS reveal if it looks like you're going to be lynched."

"Okay. But what if the Mafia counter-claims my reveal?"

"Let them. No matter what happens, the truth will come out after the death reveal. They only end up exposing themselves."

"I guess that makes sense."

*Duke ruffles Bowser's hair*

"It sure does, Bowser. And another thing. Never forget to share your views once you finally do reveal. The Mafia are certainly going to eliminate you once you reveal, so it's important that you pass on the knowledge you've gained to everyone else before you're silenced."

"So... I should have told everyone that I knew Pie was innocent before I was lynched?"

"It probably would have helped. I'm sure Pie would agree."

"Well, now I know."

"And knowing is half the battle!"

yea... that would have helped. A little.

and It would also have helped if people were a bit more... thinking. it's weird how you always assume that the first person to acuse is the bad person.

I love being the bad guy...er...girl.

In my defense, I did try to tell people I was the seer and tried to tell people about pie, but there was major lag that day and no one was posting except me.

Had I told them about Pie, I still would have been lynched and Pie would have been killed by the mafia that night

You may well be right, Bowser. But the hope is that the claim comes in with enough time for the village to change it's vote.

It also helps to use large bold font to grab people's attention. In play-by-post games, it's better to say:

I'm the DETECTIVE!

Rather than just hinting strongly at it.

But there wasn't much you could do, I agree. It was unfortunate that you got piled on the first day. Hopefully the village will fair better in the next game, whenever that may be.

Oh also, You should have said that I was innocent.
