PSA: gender pronouns

Postby mortaine » Tue Feb 08, 2005 10:27 pm

FYI, since we'll be talking about the deceased, it might be helpful to use the appropriate pronoun.

Mortaine is female. Yes. I am female.

No offense taken if you thought I was male. It's a very common misperception, and I don't mind a bit. But for the sake of conversation, it may be helpful to refer to me as "she."

Thank you.

I might've done that a few times.

Yep. No problem, as I said-- no offense taken at all.

It's an ambiguous username, and since I don't have too many opportunities to talk about my husband and our hot heterosexual love life in here, there's no reason to expect people to know.

Seriously, no blood no foul.

Well, except for all that blood dripping off of my neck and down that candle. Ew.

I had thought you were a female, then nixit went around calling you a he and I got confused. So I think I tried to just avoid using pronouns when refering to you. :)

I had given some thought to the phallic nature of the candlestick - but only after I wrote the last post... So it wasn't intentional...

Bah. How very fitting that I should have my head mounted on the very candle I used to burn the wolf social moth? Besides, when the flesh decays off of it, it'll make a great Halloween decoration!

/me has a great sense of humor about death.

*points to voting record* I think it's really clear that, when I was alive, I thought social moth was the wolf. I said "I used to burn" because I was the one who first accused SM of being the wolf.

I said nothing about my ID. Obviously, though, I am not a werewolf. We can all agree on that, at least.

You're paranoid. You think everyone is in the know and that we're secretly plotting to have the werewolves take the moderator out....

Whoops. Well, good thing I'm already dead. They can't touch me now.

*rushes at Farmer, slavering jaws and claws out, ready to rip him to pieces*

Me? Wolf? Never! *grins wolfishly*

Ahem.
