An unsettling fog had draped itself over the village as the evening twilight eclipsed the town. Within that fog lurked the living death that the older generation of the town knew all too well.
30 years ago, in the first encounter, they had tried the slow and reasoning method. Let the dead expose themselves first was the thought...
But that method had led to the death of the one man who knew how to stop them... and the next night's attack had been aimed at the children. It was only then, after those costly mistakes had been made that the villagers took up arms and began to actively search amonst themselves for the lurking undead. Yes a few innocents had been killed... but it was nothing compared to what would happened if they sat still and waited more.
The old village Priest remembered this lesson most of all, and when the younger villagers had suggested the plan of waiting once again, he quickly reminded them of what had happened long ago.
"The Living Dead must be rooted out now!" he said. "Suffer not Evil to live!"
And so the reluctant village looked at who might have been most recently killed and raised. For it was certain that a dark necromancer and his minions were already amongst them.
Eyes fell upon Nakranoth and Saztronic. The arguements for both were equally fierce, but in the end, it was Nakranoth on whom the village turned.
He chose to flee instead of face the hangman's noose. And so the mob chased him into the woods and up the rocky hill that overlooked the Bitten Tongue river.
He was finally cornered at a promontory point. The villagers pointed their weapons at him. Sharp knives, blunt planks of wood, and even old revolvers were amongst them. Nakranoth swore one final oath, then lept from the edge. He fell over a 200 feet into the river and the jagged rocks below.
Nakranoth was LYNCHED.
He was GOOD.
Night Orders please.

Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

*his mouth curls slightly*
How perfectly self-serving. Perhaps if you had not been so adamant in preaching peace and nonviolence in the presence of danger, we could have rallied the community against a true culprit.
I wonder why you were so keen on preventing us from doing so?

The zombies swarmed in during the night, when their strength and hunger were both greatly increased. It was all the village could do to just barricade themselves inside and hold the living dead at bay.
When dawn arrived, they found Deadboy's home broken into and his mangled body clawed apart.
Not many people had been in Deadboy's place before, as the guy was very much a loner. It was quite disturbing what they saw... old occult texts, human skulls, lots of candles and arcane symbols scrawled everywhere.
Someone harumphed loudly... "Deadboy appears to be the heretic that started this mess. God is just... and the evil this man created has claimed his life."
DEADBOY was KILLED.
HE was EVIL.
The villagers returned to the town square to discuss who they were going to go after next and were greeted with a surprise:
Nakranoth was alive and standing before them!
NAKRANOTH has RETURNED.

It's dawn, day 2. You can talk now.

See, staying together is best, but it benefited us that deadboy didn't. One down two to go...*she stops as she sees Nakranoth* Oh no...does this mean you were the undertaker...*she shivers* Now what are we going to do. *she frowns at Pie and mtm21*

Well people, we have had quite a spot of luck today. Nakranoth, who we lynched, was quite a tough guy. A little harder to kill than we thought. And the zombies killed one of their own, the necromancer. That means they have no way of finding our priest. We are far better off today than yesterday. So who do we go after now? *He runs his hands over his scalp*
