??? What do you mean, Seko? The website hallucinatingfarmer gave for reference clearly states that "As soon as a majority of players vote for a particular player to die, the moderator says "Ok, you're dead." That player then reveals his card, and the rest of the players find out whether they've lynched a human, a werewolf, or (oops!) the seer. "
I think it's vital to know how many werewolves are still in the game and whether the decision to lynch somebody was right or wrong.

I know I'm not playing, but I've been watching the game with a lot of interest. I demo "Are You A Werewolf?" for Looney Labs, and the game goes a lot faster in RL.
When we play, though, you are never allowed to reveal your identity until the game is over. This is because the villagers should not know until a night has passed without incident that they have killed the last werewolf, and nobody should ever know if the seer is still around.
It's very common for someone to pretend to be the seer in order to "off" someone else (like, say, the werewolves in order to draw the scent off of themselves) and if the villagers know that the seer is already dead, this strategy does not work. Similarly, someone might pretend to be the seer to draw the werewolves out (as the wolves then vote for that person in the lynchings); if the werewolves know the seer is already dead, this strategy again would not work.
This game is a lot about secrets and lies and mysteries; artificially revealing a mystery in the middle of the game kind of spoils part of the fun and gives an advantage to the werewolves (who now know the exact odds of hitting the seer on their next kill).
Anyway, just wanted to lend my thoughts to the whole "who died" topic.

the moderator descends from above to rid the game of confusion
Sorry guys - I guess I didn't make it clear - I know there are a lot of variants to the game - I intended in this game that anyone dead reveals their status - as in the rules I supplied - I should have done that as moderator - but I don't usually play like that - so i forgot - sorry guys
It goes a lot faster in RL, for obvious reasons - but usually goes smoothly in forums...
everyone killed so far has been an innocent villager...

Night feel and the villagers cowered in fear, aware that they had not yet caught any werewolves. But try as they might, they could not fend off sleep, tired as they were from the long day before.
In the deep dead of the night, the two werewolves appeared, drooling with thirst for villager blood. They promptly headed for the house of Zoot and Insert gory horror movie cliche here - I personally prefer lots of blood and wild head thrashing from the werewolves... will try and think of a good werewolf movie to nick a scene from next time - suggestions welcome They left the devoured body of Zoot and crept back into the night, seemlesly merging back into the village popultion.
As the sun rose the villagers believed they had escaped another horrible, grisly death... And all seemed ok until they noticed the pub landlord's dog wandering around with what seemed to be a severed human arm. The six fingers made it obvious that it belonged to Zoot - a poor innocent villager...
Filled with anger, and fuelled by fear. The villagers decided that someone should pay for this...
The innocent villager Zoot has been killed by the werewolves...
It is the second day... Sharpen your pitchforks and get ready for a good ol' lynch mob...

Oh my...another night and another victim...yes indeed. Now we know that our only ways of salvation is to stop these beasts.
I'm sure I was not the only one hearing whispers about Garolou being the warewolf for sure...I would like to know who started the rumors.

*sighs* I am sad that so many innocent have died... But the baseless finger-pointing and wild accusations can cease.
Werewolves, you have been found. *smiles* Today, and tomorrow, you shall be killed, I am certain. *raises her head a bit and takes a breath as she tries to show confidence* The innocence of many have been proven... Trage, Zoot, and Garolou have died in the past few days... Revanael, Seko, Pirog, and my own innocence can be proven or assured by the seer. This leaves out only Mei Yutian and Swymir.
Today, I am sure of my vote for Mei. She asked for the seer to reveal themself, and her wish shall be granted now. Now that everyone can clearly see who the two werewolves are, there is no reason for me to hide. Werewolves, know that you are both doomed, whether or not you kill me now. Your secret has been found, your names and this proof is here. If the rest of the village trusts me on this, then we will have won. *closes her eyes* But if they do not trust me, then you bloodthirsty beasts will have your fill.
You've killed a friend of mine, you've caused the death of three innocent villagers, either by your own claws or through the effects of your actions. I do not wish to see any more of my friends die.

But Ree...why are you lying?
What you say now doesn't go along with what you have whispered to me...I don't...NO!!!
*backs away from Ree, his doe shivering in terror*
I trusted you...but why? You and Seko have been the only ones whispering in the ears of others, yes indeed. You said that you had heard from the seer that Garolou was in fact the warewolf...and now you claim to be sure that Mei or Swymir are to blame. But how can you know this...and how can we know that you are speaking the truth?
*he turns to the other villagers*
I'm afraid that we have walked into a clever trap...yes, indeed, a clever trap! Call it a sixth sense...or perhaps it is just the mystical herbs in my meat filled centre...but I feel sure of this.
Ree and Seko are the warewolves!
They have fooled us all by acting like the most engaged villagers in the hunt for the beasts...yes, indeed, very clever...whispering words of safety and comfort into the very souls they prey on at night!
I really thought you was my friend, Ree...

By speaking out now my fate is sealed, of this I am sure. If we hang Ree her warewolf friend will surely take a horrible vengance on me, yes indeed...and in the horrible situation I would be wrong, no doubt I would be executed at first light, since all guilt would fall on me...but we must act now!
If we follow Ree and Seko and it is indeed a trap we will soon be too few to resist them even if we expose them, yes...yes.
I admit that I'm not the seer...for all I know poor Trage might have been the seer...but I feel sure about this.
Ree...I have no choice but to demand your execution, yes indeed. May the great baker in the sky strike me down if I'm wrong.

Pirog, don't be a fool. You're doing the devil's work. I believe you are innocent but now you're just aiding the werewolves. Mei must die. I cannot be sure wether this is the right decision but something must be done. Soon this will end, the werewolves have lost the game. I just wish innocent people wouldn't need to die anymore. There are some lies and secrets flying around, mixing things up. Tomorrow everything will be better.
I don't know who started this obvious lie about Garolou being tested. *sigh* I take full responcibility of his death. I based my accusations on feeble guesses, acting against my heart and turned everyone against him, even though it was Swymir who laid the first vote. Once I would have gone against Ree next, even though she was always standing on my side. Now I know I was wrong.

Seko, what happened to you??? Just the other day, when asking me to vote against Garolou, you said "I couldn't think of you as a werewolf."
And Ree, if you are the Seer, why were you among those who advocated innocent Garolou's death the fiercest? Why would you reveal yourself now when the werewolves could kill you in the next night? I asked for the Seer's wisdom, not for his martyrdom! And you don't look like a martyr to me, more like a beast with fangs who can be sure his fellow werewolf won't let him be killed...
You're all crazy! First you kill my best friend Garolou and when he proves to be innocent, you go after me next, with as little evidence!
Can't you see what game Ree and perhaps also Seko is playing? They divide us and make sure that, no matter whether it's day or night, only innocents are dying. It's very suspicious how closely they are working together when it's time to select a victim. No other villager has been so convinced of his choice of victim, and no other villager has so wilfully led others to make a wrong choice.
So far I have stuck back. I didn't think that I could condemn anybody with certainty, but if I had made wild, unreasonable accusations like them, and been proven wrong, I would be deeply ashamed and refrain from making more accusations!
At this point, I'm convinced that Ree is one of the werewolves and that Seko is either too naive to see who she's in league with or that she's the second werewolf. In any event, Ree must die!

I... I really don't know, I can't know anything in here but someone must die. It's a terrible gamble but the only chance we got. One thing we know for sure is that an innocent one will die tonight. In the claws of the werewolves I mean. Even if we strike true in the evening and kill one of the werewolves, the second one will still be roaming free.
The way I attacked Ree and Garolou earlier was totally insane. They were both so friendly to me and yet I stabbed him in the back, sending an innocent man to death. A-and it was I who forced Ree to vote for him. I said if she didn't it would prove she's a werewolf and then we'd kill her. Seems like you're going to do it anyway but I'm not going to assist you in any way. I've made enough mistakes, the odds must be on my side this time.
