The bad engine sends Ira off a bit, and a flight of plasma comes so near that the ships thermometer registers it. The ship is almost crushed between two asteroids, but the field is beginning to clear.

"Talking too much and getting hit by meteorites, now AHH!!!" she shrieks as they pass narrowly between the two asteroids. "Pay attention, will ya?"

Engin heat is 100 degreas from malfunction. Coolent sheilds failing. You have to use all of the engins, not just the primary and turning engens, or els we will be sitting ducks!!!

I'm no rocket scientist, but wouldn't using the damaged engines cause a malfunction?

Captain Fhmi gripped the edges of his desk as the flight continued. "I've heard enough of this rubbish!" he spoke in a lesser thrill, "All are to speak what's neccessary until the danger has ceased!"
He turns to the mechanic. "How much longer can the ship hold, Mr. Flinch!?"

Oh, the hull is in perfict condishion,the engins are durable, but under this stress will have to be repaird in..... aproxamatly 2.6 hours, if things don't get wors, as they probably will. we just have to NOT overheat the engens.*He turns to Matters* Thats why this ship was build with 6 engens, of wich we are currently only using 3.

You mean I was flying this thing at only half power?! He looks mightily confused and frustrated. Look, why don't we just shut the damaged engine down and fire up the backups? I could fly circles around these guys. He turns to the captain. Let me go back there, I could get us a clean shot at their turrets and once they've got no weapons we can hold 'em at our mercy!

Are you nuts?!? We're leaking fuel, here, if we make it back through that asteroid field, we'll be at their mercy. We're almost clear, here, let's just get the heck out of here.

Actualley, we should have somone go back their, and, you know, make shure were not being chased. Oh, and matters, don't worry about it. This is a custom built space vessal, CBS, and plus, I'v herd that the Royal Academy's budget has been cut a few times.

Ira rolls his eyes. Whatever Albert, maybe you should just go back there and start doing what you can to fix it, y'know... stop the leak so we can safely use the engines that aren't damaged. Having safely guided the ship into a safe zone with few roaving asteroids, he turns around in his seat to face the Captain. Even if I can't use one engine, the others would still give me enough maneuverability to do what I need to do, sir. These pirate frigates are usually second hand pieces of junk pieced together from backwater planet black market sale bins. The weapons systems and engines are all pirates usually care about. That means that there's bound to be some weak spots. And if I can exploit them, a ship with this much maneuvarability could disable them piece by piece. End result is they either flee and leave us to our daring rescue, or they stay until we destroy their hyperjump capability and then all we have to do is radio in for the cavalry.

He turns back to piloting the ship and casually adds, Y'know I'd bet there's a big reward on these fellas heads. Dead or alive, y'know? Might be a way for all of us to retire early.

hmm... well... when I'm back there, you cant use any engens that I am in the vicinity of, Wich might put the main or turning engens off at any time that I am repairing any leaks in their vicinity, or anything electrical or fuel related to those engens, wich, if I am in the battery room, or the fuel storidge room, you'l have to shut off all of the engens exept for the auxilery engins.Well, unless you want me dead.. that is.

They're big enough to see on this thing, I don't see any reason to check the rear turret. And yes, they're still there.
And I can't believe I'm agreeing with Ira for once, but I think we should take these f**kers out, or better yet, disable their ship and have them answer to us, personally like.
