I think I'll just start a new topic for the actual game - and just re-name this one or something...

I'm starting to consider having more than two werewolves? Depends upon the numbers

I'd like to keep identities secret - I'm not sure it will make things too difficult, it's how I usually play - and if there are an odd number of villagers, it won;t be as unfair as last time - also, I'll be keeping more of an eye on proceedings - and will be more forceful with deadlines etc., so it should run its course faster...

keep ideas and votes coming in - final decision rests with the game keepere, but I like to be as democtratic as I can ;)

I'd actually prefer to have one of the other "bad guy" roles if you think that the bad guys don't have enough of an advantage as it is. Three werewolves means that six people have to die, minimum, in order for the villagers to win (and we all know how likely it is that the villagers will be wrong at least one night), plus it starts them off with a very strong voting bloc in the game.

If the villagers are wrong even once, then eight people will have to die in order for the villagers to win. In a 12 person game, that leaves 4 people at the end of the game. It isn't too hard for three werewolves to win against 12 villagers-- all they need to do is make sure the villagers are wrong once or twice-- something highly likely given the nature of the game.

In a 12 person game, 6 people MUST die for there to even be a chance of the villagers having won. If the villagers are wrong for their first three votes (and that's extremely likely-- 75% likely on the first vote, in fact), then there will be six left-- three werewolves, three villagers, game over. It's just too easy for the werewolves. Remember, the werewolves never have a chance of accidentally killing one of their own.

Basically, adding an extra werewolf will unbalance the game. The werewolves start out with a slight advantage over the villagers when there are just two of them, an advantage the villagers only recover when the game is about half over.

I agree. Keeping two werewolves will make for a few more rounds I that could be needed. The last turn was very interesting and fun, but a bit short.

Yeah, no more than 2 werewolves with the amount of people we have... anymore would be very difficult.

so far, here are the basics:

identities kept secret until the end - unless that becomes very unpopular...

two werewolves, one seer

considering:

lovers?

fool?

possibly a baner - but that doesn't always work well IMHO...

But probably will keep it as simple as possible - maybe just the fool - as it doesn;t affect the gam,e much - just makes some poor person feel like a total dunce...

I'm good with those, hallucinatingfarmer. Any of the roles you mentioned would be OK with me.

Could we have a final player list? Is it the one on the first page of this topic? :?

What are baners? What are lovers? (I'm thinking of doing a live session of this game with some friends and I'd like to know what these possibilities are.)

Could someone explain the rules for these?

> AoM: Baner can protect a single person from werewolf attacks each night, it can be himself or someone else. Sometimes limited to one of these options. If the werewolves try to kill a protected person, they fail. If the baner protects someone else they are not themselves protected and can be killed.

Lovers are two people whose hearts are tied together, if one of them dies then the other one shall as well. It's random who they are so it could be that the other one is a werewolf and the other one an innocent one. If they are the last survivors, they will win even if they're supposed to be on different sides.
