The defenders fell fourteen enemies and take three hits themselves. Our heroes hit the enemy and kill three all told.

"Ha Ha! They're dropping like flies! And we're drawing some of them away. Pretty soon they'll have lost the only advantage they had to begin with... numbers!"

Ira fires a blast behind him, hitting a tree 10 yards away from the nearest pursuer.

[Nalaris]

Three of the enemy locate you and open fire, setting the thick foliage on fire. They also call out to their comrades. There appears to be twenty men or so closing in on you. Both alien guards shoot down an enemy, and the Captain also downs one. Ira and Smirg both miss. The defenders nearly annihilate all those still attacking the base.

(Albert and Amanda are both in safety, so I won't bother showing their status anymore.

Pie? You hanging in there? You're still following this, right? Hard to tell when you don't have a part...I'll try to hurry things along, this is going to get really interesting, really soon.)

yea.... but I don't get the attacking thing...

The Captain shouts to the group to retreat and take cover. Ira, throw one of those grenades that you have at them. Hopefully, it will kill some of them and distract the rest so we can escape. He begins to run away from the attackers turning around to shoot every once in awhile and looking for cover.



I'm going on vacation for 5 days and won't have access to a computer. Sorry, guys. I'll be back on Sunday.

Of all the people who could've taken a sabbattical(sp?). Ah well, can't be helped.

Meanwhile, in battle...

The defenders destroy the remaining attackers, and hit one of the straggling members of the search party, and the two alien guards also manage to strike down an enemy. The grenade kills two more. Fhmi misses, as does Smirg. The guards have taken defensive positions twenty feet from the enemy line of fire, between Captain and Crew and the hostile forces.

Then the enemy, the solid fourteen of them, open fire, and the foliage is consumed by plasma and fire. Ira is wounded in his left arm, and the Captain loses an ear to a plasma blast. The heat from the blast scorches the right side of his head, but he's suffered no major damage other than the ear. One of the aliens' chests explodes as a highly charged plasma blast strikes it. As he dies, his breathless lips mouth the word "Run!". The other guard is killed soon after, and Smirg takes a hit to his left arm immediately after...

Will Captain Fhmi and his crew escape this battle alive? Or will they be killed during their heroic, tide turning attack? Tune in next Monday to find out!

Yeah... Even Ira might sound the call for the tactical withdrawal at this point. And by the way, Ow. That's my left arm man...

oh by the way.... WOOP!!!! And can i come into the battle and rescue everyone heroicly?

Uh...you can barely even shoot...

And man, Amanda will never let Ira hear the end of this arm wound thing. Ecspecially if he calls for a tactical retreat.

[AoM]

(Well maybe if Ira had the ability to kill somebody, he wouldn't be so darned worried about sticking around to fight. It's hard having a gung ho attitude if he's gonna just keep on missing...)

(Although at least he's managed to kill two opponents, but it's been with a grenade...)

"All right, our best bet is to split up and work a feint. Steven and Albert will go one way, the Captain, Amanda and I will go another. That way the two best shots are divided up amongst each group and we'll draw some defenders away...

"Then while one group runs, the other attacks from another angle. And when they switch to attack the other group, we reverse tactics. We can whittle them down this way, while using the jungle for cover!"

D'oh! Okay then... forget it. Let's just pull a Han Solo and charge them. They'll never see it coming!
