The blacksmith limps in, his face now swollen and dark with bruises from yesterdays fight. He stares at Dragonslayers corpse for a long time before speaking

I guess i really misjudged the man.

He swallows and turns away from the body

This is horrible! I won't claim I liked Dragon but I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. We have to stop these people!

Miss Mortaine goes into where Sparkle is sitting and takes the other woman's bloodied hand gently. She speaks to her in low, soothing tones, trying to calm her.

I think that our Inn Keep makes some sense. Sparkle certainly had motive to kill Dragonslayer once he put her in his will. I still think it was very suspicious that she fought so much with Mr. Surly the day before he died, and now this...it doesn't sit well in my mind, I must say.

[Nixit]

*sighs and sits down on a chair* Thank you, Mr. Wichita.

[Sparkle]

She rocks silently...mumbling words then shouting words

You guys think it was me. Fine! I have falled. Sir Dragon is dead. Mikki was a ripper what ever the hell that is! I can't take this...

She puts her head in her head and shakes it

This is crazy! Who ever put this on me is trying to frame me! She points at the heart that now lays at her feet

Why would I want to kill Sir Dragon. He just said he wanted to marry me. Me as his wife made sure I would live happily and rich for the rest of my life. Why would I kill him! I don't even want his money! You can burn it for all I care!

What does bother me are those who are quick to want people to believe that, that lame set up makes it me. If I killed Sir Dragon why would I lay down and place his heart on me. Seems like I would still have it in my hand. This is ridiculous!

[Nixit]

Oh really? He said that he wanted to marry you? *shakes his head sadly* You really can make things up on the spot. Why would he, a rich man, want to marry you, a prostitute? And... the day after his previous loved one was killed! Your story is false, and obviously false.

[Sparkle]

Well, for your information...Sir Dragon and I have been close for quite some time. I am the owner of a Bordello. That does not make me a prositute! I have not slept with men for money for a very long time. You should get your facts straight. Why would I have to do that? That's what my girls are for. Sir Dragon has been the only man I have been sleeping with. He offers me money and nice jewelry. I have never requested it from him...ok, I asked for a neckace or bracelet every now and then...

I don't know, but that's what he said. His exact words were...

"If this hadn't have happen Sparkle. I was wanting to marry you. I have been in love with you for a long time."

I don't have to make anything up. Just trying to avoid everyone from wasting their time, but it seems you want them to concentrate on me! I find that very suspicious Nixit!

[Sparkle]

She turns to Mortaine patting her hand

Your such a very sweet girl. Thank you.

She hugs her and began to cry

[Nixit]

Well, of course I want everyone to concentrate on you! You're the killer!

[Nixit]

*breathes deeply, trying to calm down* And I'm sorry I called you a prostitute... but I still don't think that you are telling the truth here.

[Sparkle]

How can I prove to you that I am innocent?

You know what. Kill me! Go right ahead. If this will make you concentrate on the real killer so my girls will be safe then go for it! My death will prove my innocense and probably prove your guilt!

I wouldn't mind joining the person that I know loved me...Sir Dragon.

She sighs wiping the tears from her eyes...

[Nixit]

And if I am wrong, then surely I am the killer! But I assure you, that is not the case.

Mr. Nixit, you're wrong, though I don't think you're the murderer, either. Sparkle works nights-- you know that. All the men in this district do. It's her busiest time-- she hasn't the opportunity to kill at night. Of all of us, she's the one most in the public eye after dark.

What's more, Mr. Dragon Slayer defended Miss Sparkle yesterday against anyone who accused her-- he even provoked quite a few votes for himself as a result, mine included. If she were the killer, it is inconceivable that she would have killed him last night. Tonight, or tomorrow, or sometime later when she couldn't count on his protection, perhaps. But not so early on, when she could still count on his unwavering support.

I sensed a lot of bitterness from Mr. Dragon Slayer, else I wouldn't have voted for him yesterday. A lot of bitterness and a lot of capacity for violence. Obviously, I was wrong in thinking he was the killer. My initial instinct was to abstain yesterday, and his rancor and vindictiveness made me change my mind. I ought to have remembered that there is a line between normal spite, which Mr. Dragon Slayer exhibited, and the evil maliciousness that these killers have shown. It's something we all should remember when we weigh these decisions.

If Mikki truly was the ripper, and there was an accomplice, then there is one killer among us, someone who has done a good job of avoiding suspicion, someone strong enough to lift a man as big as Dragon Slayer over their head. But our chances of catching him with random accusations are only 10% now.

Thank goodness someone around here is using their heads.

Mr. Nixit, I suggest if you are not the killer you take back your statement because you will indeed look bad once you realize I am innocent.

I trust Ms. Mortaine. If she doesn't think you did it then I believer her. So at this time I will abstain from voting.

[Nixit]

Well, I have not realized that you are in fact innocent, but I have said all that I can at the moment, and will not press the accusation further.
