*He comes in, his suit wet frome his knees doun to his shoes, a wrench and a toolbox in hand* Ok, I'm done.. but i think we should wait a wile until the coolant for the engens start to run again. It will only take about... say...30 minuts. So, what's with all the screeming?

What the heck? *He looks back into the room and sees the disaster happeninng, and then steps back into the engin room to clear the coolant that exploded frome a clogged coolant pipe that exploded, and the resulting coolant spill caused a big mess and stuf*

Time skip/bumb. Nothing to do now, so I'm going to skip ahead a few hours, with the crew preparing to bunk down. A quick status report: we're about a week from our destination, there are no injuries among the crew, the strange legless man may or may not still be on the ship, but he's yet to reappear, and the engines are going to take a day or two more to repair.

He moves to grab one of the bodyguard's pistols.

"One quick shot and we'll have some peace and quiet around here."

Smirg grasps his pistol firmly. He looks irritably at Ira.

If the captain wants me to shoot 'im, he'll order me to do so. There's no need for you to be overly dramatic.

Ira sneers at Smirg.

"It doesn't take a big tough guy like you to pull a hair trigger now does it? I just want that wailing done with. The legless guy is an intruder, and what's more he's a dying intruder. He's pissing me off and he's freaking our good doctor out. It'd be better for him and us both if we just shot him."

He looks at the captain.

"Maybe it's best if you come too, captain. I got discharged from the academy once for acting hasty, but if you were there in an official capacity, we could end this guy good and well and I won't have to worry about no trial afterwards."

Sorry, I thought I had missed something when AoM's character said he went to grab one of my guns. My mistake. Also, ignore the part where Smirg talked about just ordering him to do it. For some reason I had it in my head that AoM was the captain.
