Is this thread too much, I need a gauge to keep myself in line in future.

Apparently you aren't the only person who needs a gauge which, the last I could figure out, is vaguely Family Friendly (FF for schme) or PG-13. I have asked for clarification on this with little success myself.
I couldn't care less if people say the regular naughty words even though it seems to bother some others. I am, however, definitely going to protest graphic descriptions of sexual violence as Seko is doing in her post about her homosexual characters here:
http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.ph ... &start=255
This has nothing to do with the thread topic and I don't believe anyone asked her to describe the various sexual escapades of her gay characters. The word that starts with a "b" is banned on the radio and TV stations in the United States. It definitely is not family friendly and I think from it's meaning Seko should have known it was inappropriate on the forums.

Oye, would it be better if I used clinical terms like ejaculated? I was just expressing that even though my characters have homosexual features, none of them have engaged in homosexual intercourse in the traditional sense, that is to say in anal or oral. I admit the limit of inappropriate is vague to me and I often don't know where I cross the line, especially if I get excited about explaining something. These might be taken as traits of the Asperger syndrome I most likely have. It's not like my parents weren't trying to raise me right, I just didn't get it. As my self-limiting skills seem to be impaired, feel free to censor my words - and since you seem to be so eager of doing it, kinvoya, why don't you join the CD?

Well, I personally, think the line for discussing ejaculation by Cantr characters can be drawn at...never. Also, sexual molestation during murder...never. Also, anal vs oral sex...never. Illness or not, I know you are very intelligent and I know you couldn't possibly think these things are Family Friendly.
I am offended and grossed out by it and I am not a 12-year-old Christian like one little spelling-challenged dude we all know.
EDIT: I also think the line for talking about sucking of genitals or, heck, lets just say any other body part since it's so confusing is...never.
NOTE: I am not CD so these are my personal opinions.

Well, when I was 12 or 13 I was channel surfing and happened to bump into Melroce Place or Beverly Hills 90210 just as a woman said to another, in an unbelieving voice: "You sucked his c**k?" And I was all gosh, you can do that?
But anyway, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Whatever amalgamation of events made Seko, Seko, I do not need to know.
Odds are if it involves a penis, it is not family friendly. Not hard to "guage".

So have I...
I've asked to get some kind of idea of the desired moderation style from the game admin (not being 100% sure myself), which differs somewhat, than how it has been in the past.
I hope to make some kinda post on the forums exlaining any shift, as I know forum users have been unsure about exactly what will/won't be moderated, and how it we'll go about it.
For now, those kind of sexually explicit and violent descriptions shouldn't just be posted out in public. Seko, Racetyme, would you change your posts please?

Sorry, I guess I could do that, I just thought it would be funny. (3 guesses how old I am, what my main personality feature is, and my sex, no peeking in other forums)

Oh, my, Seko... My little sister was recently diagnosed with that disorder... I feel so bad for her, we understand why she does everything the way she does it now...
Must have been horrible growing up as a child, as the other children wouldn't have known why the hell you act as you probably did. My sister has few friends, I feel safe posting this on the web as I am 15, she is 10 and she will never find it- she has no intention of playing this game, and no one I know well enough also plays it. Except a guy called Seeker, best friends with him, but he wouldn't read here, and you would.
Anyway, wanted to get that off my chest... :'(

Your sister was lucky to be born in this new age when psychology has developped and children are more likely to be diagnosed. Would have helped a lot in school if the teachers had known a reason for my difference, but in the beginning of the 90's, Asperger sydrome was known only by very rare people.
My mom heard about autism in the radio when I was a little kid, and she had this flash, what if my child is like that? She never looks people in the eyes... But then she forgot about it for years. And I survived in normal school even though with lots of social trouble.
I don't remember when we started getting information about the Asperger syndrome. There was a boy in my school, a year younger than me and he had the diagnosis. My brother said that the kid is just like me. And in some ways he was, though you gotta remember that people are still individuals even if they share an oddity.
I don't see Asperger syndrome as an illness, it's a collection of traits and features common to the people who have it. And not everybody has the same symptoms, the mixtures and intensities vary. Some of the features cause trouble in life but still I don't think I'd want to turn into a "normal" person even if there was a chance.
(Sorry for chatting on a mod forum)

What's that supposed to mean?
I was also wondering about this, though. It seems that what is considered acceptable content on these forums varies drastically from one minute to the next. Is there some sort of official thing about it? Just wondering.

As far as something official, I have been meaning to get round to writing something...
Bacially, as I have stated elsewhere, the level of moderation has shifted a fair amount than what it was.
In terms of 'language' (when not part of abuse towards another user) - the CD will only step-in if it is really excessive (and I know excessive is subjective - some people feel that one naughty word is excessive) the odd expletive is no worries, if a forum member release a string of them, then the a CD member might step-in.
Unlike before, a CD member won't directly edit the post, but will ask the poster (via a reported PM or a forum post) to edit it themselves.
I have yet to come across anyone using such a level of expletives that really warrants CD intervention.
Graphical sexual and/or violent descriptions might also warrant a CD member asking the poster to edit-out or change what was written, although, again, it's rare (if at all) that'll happen, and I can only really think of one occasion.
Abuse towards another forum user is something we don't tolerate. I do think everyone should be able to take a joke, and take the odd 'poking of fun'.
Flaming (the regular abuse of others for no real reason, which can get personal) is not something which ever really happens on the Cantr forums (I'm certainly not going to do what most forums do - which is to actually devote a section of the forum to flaming) and so might be taken more personally than it would in an environment where it is more common.
Besides, the constant abuse of other users for no real reason, just seems immature to me. The odd poke of fun is fine, but there's no need for it to be constant, and certainly no need to get personal.
Again, however, the CD will only get involved if a forum member complains. If people are constantly posting on the forum, complaining about another user's attitude, a CD member will probably ask the user to stop being abusive.
If anyone ever feels that someone else has said something on the forums that is hurtful towards them, we encourage them to let us know, and we'll try to deal with it.
The same goes if you ever read somethng that you feel is too excessive with 'bad langugae' or too graphic, either let the poster know, or let us know, at the very least we'll pass on the message that another user didn't apreciate the post.
The forum is pretty much self-regulating, however, we encourage people to let others know if they don't appreciate the nature of the post.
The majority of moderation happens in the suggestions forum, when duplicate suggestions are locked and quoted on previous threads. If I sound a little narky, it's because it takes a bit of time and effort to do, and it's not like there aren't adequate warnings...
Well, there you go, that ended out being longer than I had intended, the above should probably have been made as a thread on CD forum moderation (It says almost exactly the same thing as CD members are asked to look at on the CD forum...)
