Am I the only one who finds 'whore' an inappropriate 'family' word?
It shows up all over the forums...

I, personally, don't find anything wrong with the phrase "post whore."
(This is not to be taken as any sort of official CD opinion.)

I have no problems with the term. I do have problems with certain post whores who frequently triple post.
Extremely annoying.

Even those who do it to highlight its annoyance (*cough*Nick*cough*) seem to do it more than strictly necessary
...which, of course, it never is.

This is a 'family' forum. Would you say whore in front of your family?

Well you'd never know with those crazy americans
(a joke!)
Let's keep this forum pg rated please....

In the US families can hear that word on regular (non-cable) TV. It's not a word I like when applied to someone in a serious way but I do find it kind of humorous in other contexts.

I'm not a person who uses swear words.
And i don't encourage them.
But they are just words aren't they?

I'll point out that swearing and words like "whore" are extremely commonly used amongst kids and teenagers . . . I know 5-year-olds that frequently use worse language than I can find on this forum. Not that that justifies using vulgarity or profanity here, but the whole "protect the kids" thing doesn't make too much sense to me. I did worse than using bad language by the time I was 11 or so . . .
Someone seriously saying "you're a whore" is not appropriate, but "post whore" is not worthy of moderation.
All just my opinion, of course.

Yeah.
Kids swear mainly because they percieve it as naughty.

I wouldn't be adverse to swearing on the forum. I don't think this game is appropriate for kids anyway.
But that's not the point, because it's not a descision for you or I to make.
This forum is a 'family' forum. In order to keep that title, 'whore' should not be allowed.
And I'd like to know what channell has the word 'whore' said repeatedly, in a time of day where kids would be awake.

Well, Fox, for one. The word "whore" was used (in it's ugliest meaning) several times in Firefly whick was shown at 8pm, I believe.

Ah, Fox. That paragon of good sense.

Well, is it a family rated show? If it isn't, then that kind of defeats your point.
