No Forum Fun Allowed?

I'm not sure if THE POWERS THAT BE have noticed but the forums are not exactly lively these days. Have you noticed that most of the players who used to post a lot aren't doing so anymore? Having a fun and stimulating forum is one of the things that can help keep players playing.
This said we were actually enjoying a thread which was locked. This one:

Sure it was started by a bot. Maybe it needed to be moved to the nonCantr area, whatever. It was fairly lively and funny. Was it really that much of a problem? I'd like to know.
Mods please think twice before sapping all the fun out of the forums. What the hell? If something even goes slightly off topic you'd think it was a disaster. Our forum used to be fun, lively and interesting. I'd like to see it like that again.
