sickness?

there isn't much about sickness in the wiki, is it posible to recover from it? how long does it take? do healling foods help with the process? is there anything I should know about it?
I believe that sickness will not be covered in depth in the wiki, and your chars should investigate in character.
Unless the GAC make a decision to release the details, which I don't believe they have any plans to do.
