are all wepons the same except for their attack value and their name or are like bows better for certain things and spears better for other things?

Aside from their name, attack values , deterioration rates, weight and construction materials they can be considered the same.

so there aren't any diferences like one has less chance of being blocked by a shield (or something like that)?

No. Accuracy, shield penetration and range (to name a few that people have asked about in the past) are independent of the weapon used.
