1342-0: You hear someone trying to break lock no. 810693 at Kenton Voyager.

Considering the character that heard that was on the road on Burgeo, they must be using dynamite.

All travellers heard that

I presume that all travellers heard that message because the two characters I have travelling did and they weren't even on the same island

So why do these incidents keep coming up? Why do some events get "broadcasted" this way?

Yeah there have been several of these that my travelling chars have heard...maybe the roads are really echo-y?

From what I understand (and I'm not ProgD so don't quote me) events that have no location associated with them end up getting broadcast to all characters who are currently travelling. Apparently 'travelling' has no particular location associated with it, so it makes a strange sort of sense. :)

I have seen it happen myself with objects decaying, boats undocking, and locks being broken. And I have no idea how things end up with no location set for them, so you've got me there.

I believe it's caused by using the back button, though I don't really know for sure.

Savanik is right (the "no location" thing), though we never researched it in-depth. It has to do with synchronity; probably the vehicle was leaving town at the "same time" the break-lock was initiated. At the time of the check-if-vehicle-there it was, then it left (to a road which is location-zero), then the message was generated to the current location (zero) resulting in the message seen by all chars.

Though it is indeed a bug, we consider it of minor importance to fix.
