Picture upload

I uploaded a picture to the server, but it told me it was too big and approval was pending, but that was a week ago. The pic is only 200 some KB, and unless I make it microscopic, I don't know how to else to decrease the size. I have some in-game plans depending on the approval of this pic, and was wondering if any action either way (approval or denial) could be taken on it? I know we aren't supposed to link to outside the server, but if the Cantr server is going to be this strict with file size and the approval process apparently non-existant or at least very slow, I don't know how you can expect the players to abide by this rule.
Thanks.

There are no pictures currently pending for approval. Therefore, it must be awaiting Anthony's attention. He's been away, so your patience is appreciated.

Ok could you clear for people where to send pictures if you don't want their uploading to depend on Mr Sleepyhead?

Every picture must rely on Mr. Sleepyhead. *coughs* I mean, Anthony. *smiles* I am not aware that he got anyone to cover for him while he was away, though I may be mistaken.

If you're using ACDsee (or have the program), open it there, go to tools>resize it. Make it smaller. If you're using Adobe Photoshop, go to Image>Image Size, to alter. There should be a similar process on whatever program you made your picture with. Even Paint has a sketch/skew property.
What is the maximum size of a visual file, again?

This should answer your question:
Anthony Roberts wrote:Images are only meant to be 70 KB in size to upload.
However, anything above... 30 KB or so, gets plugged by the moderation police. I don't have a definate size, but some e-mails get stuck. I can not personally see these e-mails until the gateway holder of the pictures e-mail address allows it through, as to why it can be a LONG delay to get your images, and that sucks, I know.
It's to help eliminate spam and viruses (As they have attachments and such) to protect Cantr's integrity, but it seems to create more problems than solve.

Not to be picky, but with Anthony on hiatus who is doing picture uploads? I sent a very timely picture in a few days back and have received no word on how to upload it. The moment has almost passed for me to use it with this one character. How long should I wait for a response? I've never, ever sent a picture in before--I have no idea how long it takes to process.
Thanks in advance!

Did you use the form accessible from the button in the note-creation screen?

*smacks forehead* Noooooo....
I remember seeing it when it was first started and then I forgot. I've never done a picture upload so I went browsing on the forum and found this old thread.
Let me try that... Grrrrrr.....

How often does it get checked?

The email address doesn't get checked on a regular basis as players can add images through the note creation/edit interface. Have a look at the button to the right of the text box where you write in the note title
As said by west in this thread

And as said by me in the Image Upload Button thread
Cookie wrote:This is kewl, i like it a lot.
But say if we have an image slightly larger than the upload limit and we really want it, can we still send to
pictures@cantr.net to ask?
