ok. I am an english player. but the problem is, the only towns i've been able to reach [including the towns i was spawned in] have either german or dutch [i haven't felt like using my years as a deutchespracher to figure it out] names. I can't remember the exact names, but if anyone is willing to tell me if that is normal, then i'll go get them.

"north sea" or "north forest" in the deutch/dutch name is where ive traveled.

When you spaw characters, you are supposed to spawn them in a language area you can speak. Because you spawned them as german or dutch characters, they must only speak that language. And I would suggest that all of your future characters be spawned in the english lands.

If you chose English as your chars language then you are probably on a new island with a small population. Some of the names I've seen are pretty long and difficult. They look like they could be another language but I assumed they were just invented words.

I don't know what kind of help you are expecting. Your char will either live or die.

If you spawned on aki and left to your own devices, you're jerky treats. I've been introducing our "communnity" there as "The people the animals eat" as sort of a clan name.

I've been suspecting Aki was meant to be dutch, but just guessing.

My guess is Aki island, yeah.

with the newer islands Jos has gotten even farther from "north hills" and the like towards "nhralls" and so forth; some of the newest I've seen don't even have any noticeable corrolary to English descriptors at all.

for the record: character did speak engllish, i chose english.

and West, that's true?? I'm not sure what island it was, and from the way you all speak, you seem to know of it.

Finish a long boat? I doubt that was Aki. Pity.

Because it would involve an unfinished longboat on Aki. and I have seen very few places that can exist. Not saying it can't happen or that it's impossible, there's too much of Aki that has never had foot set on it for me to say that, but it seems unlikely

if it makes anyone feel better, I spawned in a town that looked to be the easternmost place on the island. To the west was forest.
