About road improvment projects.

If I start a road improvment project, will the people at the other end of the road also see this project? Will they be able to start their own improvment project for the same road but on their end? If I start a road improvement project will the people at the other end of the road not be able to improve the road? Must all resources be added and all work be done at only one of the road's ends?

I'm not 100% sure of this answer, but I do believe you are repairing half the road, and from the other end, people would repair the other half. No, people at the other end can't see your project, and yes, they can start one of their own.

If an improvement project is started at one end of the road, the town at the other end will not get the option to improve that road. They will not see your improvement project either. All resources must be added (and all the work done) at one end.

Also, road improvement projects cannot be cancelled once started, and must be completed from the end that initiated the project.

Does that answer the question?

Surly, did you add this info to the Wiki as well? :)

I think it would be more logical if both ends of the road would set separate projects and repair half of the road. But wait, then you might drive with your car to 50%, only to notice that it's a path from there on and you can't continue. Actually that might be quite funny. Nowadays it might be possible that a silly government sets foot in a place where road improvement projects for four, five roads have been started and won't let people come work on them... Naturally people should be able to upgrade at least their own end of the road. Also, if a project was partially finished then an equivalent percentage of the road would be easier to travel on.

One area managed to defend itself by having all 5 road improvement projects started there... couldn't get a van down.

Solved that though.

I really thought that's the way it was, Seko. I'm rather floored to hear it isn't. My charrie who worked on roads all her life would be very surprised too.

So that's why some roads are unable to be improved, even though they're obviously in need of it. I always wondered about that.

Everything I know has been learned IC... I always thought this one was pretty obvious... but then again, maybe not.

Does my wiki entry answer all the questions? Or does it need some refining?

Looks good to me. Basically what's been said on here. Oh, did you mention the use of shovels? I saw the note about wheelbarrows.

It use to work but I believe it was taken away or something.

Advanced Wheelbarrows used to triple road production as well. I know it used to work as my characters have used them before but this was back in the 200-300 days.
