Time problems

Hello.

At first I found Cantr to be a bit intriguing -- but now, not so sure. Perhaps it's my computer, or some bugs, I don't know which.

The time seems askew. I set about the project of making a loin cloth, a task that would take an extremely slow and inexperienced person 20 minutes to a half hour at most. Today is my second day fabricating this this simple piece of cloth and even now I am only 48% finished.

I also encountered a problem with game play itself, in that, after getting home from work this afternoon, I decided I would log on and see how that tremendous undertaking of the making of the loin cloth was going. I was online for only a short time, (minutes not hours) and the next thing I saw was this red warning at the top of the screen saying:
"You have reached the maximum playing time for today. Please come back tomorrow!= "

Are these bugs? They must be. What are the work arounds for both seeing a simple 10 minute project get done before an entire day or day and a half, and what do I do to get more than a few minutes to look around before getting kicked off?

Thanks :)

Well, I will try to answer your questions as best as I am able. A lion cloth takes 0.75 days to make, which works out to 18 real life hours, and can take significantly longer if your character is tired (such as if he were fighting lately). And as far as the time goes, Cantr moniters time by looking at the time between your last page load, and your current one, and then subtracts that amount from your time. If you were to not log out, it would be possible that when you load your next page after work, it sees that it has been 400 min. since your last page load (that is just an arbitrary number), and subtracts it from your time leaving you with 0 min. left to play with. An easy way to avoid this possibility is to log out when you are finished playing, although many people claim that just closing the browser when you are done, and logging in on a new browser when you want to check your characters again works fine for them. I hope this helps you understand what is happening, and although these are possibilities, it might be that you are experiencing some kind of bug, and you should report it as such if your problems continue, even after you try the options proposed here in this thread.

That's a reckless habit.
It will only not take the minutes away if you've been not playing long enough for your session to time out.
Otherwise, you're screwed.
Plain stupid to not logout unless you're a once-a-day player.

From my personal experience, I've never had a problem with minutes being subtracted if I just close the browser and open a new one. And I'm a 40-times-a-day player

The best bet is always just to log out.

As for the loin cloth, remember, some people are better than others. I have one character who takes about 3-4 times as long to repair something, another who is a wiz. Everyone has different things they are good at. Could just be your character isn't any good at making things like clothing.

I didn't think that skill had been implemented yet.
