PMs stopped?

Postby The Industriallist » Mon May 16, 2005 12:23 pm

I have three PMs in my outbox, and they've been there since saturday.

They don't normally take this long to transmit, do they?

Or do they only move from outbox to sentbox when the recipient logs in?

They only move to the sentbox when the person takes a look at them.

Then, as a followup...if you delete them from the outbox, does that mean they're never delivered, or not?

If you delete them, the other person will no longer have them in their inbox, however, they'll still have gotten the e-mail if they signed up for that service.

And to tell you the truth, I'm experiencing the same thing. I have a PM sitting in my outbox, and has been for about three or four days now, and I KNOW this user is active on the forums... something is up.

What if I try sending myself a PM...

[Edit]: Nah, I got my own PM, so, maybe there isn't something fishy.

PMs will stay in the outbox if they're addressed to someone whose mailbox is full (example: Jos)

At least with the other boxes I got the impression that the messages get automatically deleted on the bottom of the list if there's otherwise no room for new messages. Because I think I've never cleared my sent messages folder and it's always full yet there they keep going...

So this just means that pms with no response are just a byproduct of sender being ignored?
Then I guess this topic needs a lock...

I agree, and I will lock.

Oh and yeah PM's stay in the outbox until the person it has been sent to reads it.
