"brand new stone landmark"

It messes up the readability/realism of the objects page to see
"a brand new Stone landmark: welcome to Hicksville" or the like.
I'd much rather see
"Welcome to Hicksville! (a brand new stone landmark)"
I doubt this will be too hard to implement, and will be much nicer looking.
Pretty Please?

Not exactly what Wes was talking about, but still has to do with landmarks:
Could landmarks be like notes, in that they have a title and body, shown when the title (a link) is clicked? Many real-life monuments have plaques with a longer message, and I think this would be appropriate with Cantr landmarks. To keep them simple, there could be a character (letter) count and HTML would be disabled. That would equate to the limited space on a monument and the fact that carvings or engravings rarely make use of colored lettering, as they fade and decay.
Also, I too agree that the landmark title should come before the decay status.

Agree...I was wanting to make the Code of Jakara on a monument until I realized I couldn't get any formatting.

I agree that is looks better, west, and after reading your post I was already halfway implementing it, until I realised that will result in:
a brand new Welcome to Hicksville (a stone landmark)
Which is probably not a good idea

... And very complicated to avoid.
