The speed of rotting.

I check one of my characters and see:
"1152-2: Project Cooking meat has been finished (5000 grams, ending up on the ground)."
I check the ground and see only 1500 grams of cooked meat. I look back on the events page to see if I read right and if anybody had taken any of the cooked meat. Nobody had taken any. Then I look at the time:
Day: 1152, Time: 3:0:27.
I can't really believe that 70%, or 3500 grams, of the cooked meat is supposed to rot away in one hour, thus I am posting this.
Those 3500 grams of cooked meat are about 17 days of labour that just went to waste because I didn't happen to log in at the right time.
In case in didn't make it clear, I'm wondering whether or not it is supposed to be like this and if it is supposed to be like this then in my opinion it is wrong.

The taint values did appear to be rather high so I adjusted most of the cooked food types to be much lower, so this won't happen as badly in the future. Next time avoid doing projects larger than what you can carry, especially when you're outside. Thanks for bringing this up so I could rectify it.

Erm... in Mirovash we just finished harvesting 65,00 carrots. Now magicly after less then a day we are missing over 10,000 grams. No one has taken any, unless you guys invented a stealth way of picking things up.
Can you look into it for me?

No one has changed rotting at all as far as I know. This could also be a programming error. Thomas?!?!?!??! Or Jos!?!?!?!?!?!

Exactly. The carrots incident probably just involves that the large batch of carrots was on the ground during when rot is processed. Or another way you could think of it, animals got into them.

Well I believe when we finished we had 65,000. Now when we took them into a building we had around 48,000. And it was in the span of something like... three hours.
I'm just saying that is a bit rediculous.

Rotting is working fine.

It has been discussed in Resources and it is working fine. The only problem was that meat had a high rotting rate and was fixed. Carrots is what it has been since rotting was put in place a while ago.

Well maybe its a bit excessive then? We lost over 15,000 grams of carrots in something like... three hours.
Somethings gotta be broke.

Well you did do a 65,000g Carrot Project. Don't worry about it. 48,000g of Carrots is 1200 days of food.
