A bug and breach?

I have a character that is at a deadlock and if this is a bug the other player is in breach of exploiting this certain bug. My character had been chasing a thief who stole a shield, sabre, crowbar, several keys and a bike. Right now my character and this thief are in a town, the thief cannot be hurt at all, cant break the lock to the bike cant hurt the guy, nothing.

Now since we are sitting in town he can come out and attack then jump back onto the bike without being touched because he is quick about the attacks and im not normally on when he does this. He wont leave town either because he knows if he does he can be hurt so he is sitting there, attacking the town and killing people then hiding out on the bike. He claims to have enough food to last a very long time.

I dont know what to do anymore... any help in sight for this? If this isnt a glitch in the game then this is pretty bad and i dont know how much longer i wll play the game. He is basically a god now because he can kill without being touched at all, this really needs to be changed, quickly before more people start doing it all over the place.

What do you mean by can't? Do you get an error of some sort when you try one of those actions?

It is a Capital Rule infringement when a player exploits a bug to gain an advantage in game for his/her characters. But only if he/she knowingly exploits.

He obviously knows what he is doing, doesnt seem like an older player Rkl like You and I. He knows enough though to know what a cot will do to affect his tiredness, and an absolute new player wouldnt know that in my opinion.

And yes when you try to hit someone on the bike it gives you an error, i will go try it just so i can see the exact wording then edit this post to put it on here.

ERROR: The person you tried to hit is too far away from you.=

Thats what you get when you try to attack someone on a vehicle, you get on your own and you still cant hit him. Only way you can is when the vehcile is moving.

Wait. So are you finally getting around to saying that there's something wrong with this? All bike users be warned! You must step off of your vehicles whenever someone might want to hurt you!

I didnt really know about it until this happened thank you. I dont appreciate you being a smart ass about this, if you were in this same situation you wouldnt be acting like that about it. Its a bug in the game and he is exploiting it to kill an entire town and game more resources for his character. Its always been a rule to report bugs not exploit them.

I've reported this several times. This is a well known feature for months now, though I guess you didn't hear it. No one has said anything about how to deal with it, though.

You could break the lock if you had a crowbar, right? Not that it would help any, since a bike won't fit two people.

I'm being a 'smart ass' to rklenseth, since he's waving the magic CRB wand at an issue without a real solution. Your problem is real I don't deny.

I have been off of the forum for a long time now, ive only been back on them last month and this month, and still i hardly pay attention to alot of what is posted. And he isnt the one 'waving the crb wand' its my thread and ive already talked to pd members about this who told me to post here so programming could say something.

here

And that's far from the first time mentioned.

Edit: I wish to emphasize, I'm not criticizing Bran-muffin here. But a solution to this bug that isn't programming's is practically impossible, and they have either been ignoring it or working on it for some time now.

I dont think they had an actuall situation where a player was exploiting this bug so far, perhaps thats why it has been ignored or just kept quiet about as they work on it. I dont know, but i really would like to know whats going on with it.

Well, it's definitely been exploited, if only by people taking extra risks while on bikes because they know they can't be hurt.

All kinds of vehicles, really. Bikes, boats...cars even. Even if you would willingly not exploit it you're forced to by the fact that you can't let people reach you with weapons without yeilding the legitimate protection from dragging a vehicle gives.

It is supposed to protect you from dragging, right?

Dragging, hitting, whispering, the whole kabang.

I've been reporting this on old Flyspray, here, etc, several times as well.

Email Jos about it.

In the sense of that being it's intended behavior, and not a bug. The hitting and whispering are both bugs, to my understanding.

Oh yeah, is that how it used to be? That you couldn't drag someone off?

That's right. But the other 2 are bugs.
