A boat docked on a boat

At the moment, one of my chars boats is docked on another boat, and the boat he docked on, he is now sailing with, his boat is still docked on the other boat. I was just wondering, if he was on the other boat, would it keep stationary if the other boat is still travelling?

Also, what does it look like if I docked one boat and was on the boat that was attached to the ship, would people outside still be able to see me, and would both boats dock. Also, if I was to undock the boat with the other one docked on it, would the boat thats undocking from a location, also undock from the other boat?

Its looks like this from char page:

BOAT ONE (Boat Two)

So it it like a building in a boat then? Like a seperate deck kind of thing?

Yes, pretty much.

I think the boat docked on is supposed to move with the other boat, but I don't really know.

Well it is moving with the other boat. I was just wondering if I was on boat 2, that it would undock from boat 1, the one that is travelling. And whether people can see me from the shore i'f i'm on Boat 2, when Boat 1 docks.

It's strange.

Last time I undocked a boat from another boat, even though both boats were at a certain point around an island, when I undocked the littler boat was immediately back right where it had originally docked on the larger boat.

It moved with the larger boat, but when it undocked it was back where it started.

That could prove... problematic... for most long-distance seafarers hoping to use a smaller boat to go ashore, I think!

Yes. I don't know if it was specific to that boat at that time, or what. I didn't have the nerve to try it again.

Sounds like a great way to move people/supplies quickly in an emergency.. Take a boat on a boat where ever you are going. If you need to quickly get back where you came from, just undock.

Kind of like sending messages via your health or other status bars...

Very much like...which is to say, it's a nasty piece of abuse, unless that's the intended function of carried vessels. Which I seriously doubt.
